Andrew Howden
Andrew Howden is a dedicated and experienced music educator with a passion for helping individuals grow through music. He holds a degree in Choral Music Education from Brigham Young University and a Master’s in Music Education from the University of Utah. With nine years of teaching experience—including one year at Utah International Charter School and eight years at Herriman High School—Howden has built a reputation for inspiring students through both classroom instruction and performance.
Under his direction, choirs have frequently earned the highest scores and top rankings in state and national competitions, reflecting his commitment to musical excellence. In recognition of his outstanding teaching, Howden was honored as the Jordan Education Foundation Teacher of the Year for Herriman High School in 2024-2025.
Since 2011, he has also directed Howden Music Studios, where he offers private lessons in voice, piano, and music theory. Howden has performed with several choirs throughout Utah and is an active member of the Cantorum Chamber Choir. His love for musical theatre shines through his role as music director for Herriman High’s annual productions and his ongoing work with the Herriman City Arts Council.
Howden is committed to creating a supportive and engaging environment where every student can discover their unique musical voice. He believes in the power of music not only to develop technical skills, but also to build confidence, creativity, and character.
